Bicycle User Group
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Bicycle User Group (or B.U.G.) is a group set up within an organisation - usually a place of work - to promote cycling issues.
For example, the Group may lobby the organisation to -
- install shower facilities
- install bicycle parking facilities
- encourage safe driving on the premises
- etc.
The Group may encourage other members of the organisation to take up cycling. They may make special arrangements to make the transition easy, such as -
- offering education and advice
- group commuting
- preparing maps of good routes
- assistance in obtaining cycling grants
