Bicycle User Group

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A Bicycle User Group (or B.U.G.) is a group set up within an organisation - usually a place of work - to promote cycling issues.

For example, the Group may lobby the organisation to -

  • install shower facilities
  • install bicycle parking facilities
  • encourage safe driving on the premises
  • etc.

The Group may encourage other members of the organisation to take up cycling. They may make special arrangements to make the transition easy, such as -

  • offering education and advice
  • group commuting
  • preparing maps of good routes
  • assistance in obtaining cycling grants
