Biar is a Valencian town located in the comarca of Alt Vinalopó, in the province of Alicante, Spain. It has an area of 98.2 km² and, according to the 2003 census, a total population of 3,550 inhabitants and a population density of 36.15 inhab/km². Biar lies at the foot of the Sierra of Mariola and is located 39 km from the city of Alicante.

The economy in Biar is based on the industry, specially of dolls, and pottery. The most important monument in Biar is its walled castle, placed at the top of a hill and visible from the roads that lead into the town. The Moros y Cristianos festival of Biar is very remarkable and is celebrated each year from May 10th to 13th.
