Bhashkara Vamsh

Bhashkara Vamsh (bhaskara = sun, vamsh = clan) or the people belonging to the clan of Bhashkaravamsh are considered to be descendants of the Hindu god Surya.
The Bhashkara Vamsh includes at least 50,000 people in Southern India, claiming Aryan descent. The Clan were gifted with talents and respect as they were Smarta Brahmins. The Clan also belongs to the Expatriate community of Mulkinadu.
The early Bhashkara Vamsh people migrated to the Dasagrama area of the Vijayanagara Empire. Their village, along with ten others, was given as a gift to the Kingdom of Tanjore.
