Bhardwaj (भरद्वाज) is a surname of various people in North Indian states like Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Uttaranchal and Uttar Pradesh, etc. Bhardwaj belong to the Brahmin community of Hindus. A good population of Bhardwajs is found in the Chintpurni region of Himachal Pradesh.

Bhardwajs are the ancestors of the great sage (rishi) Bharadwaja whose accomplishments are detailed in the Puranas, the sacred Hindu scriptures.
