Beyond Einstein program

The NASA Beyond Einstein program is a program designed to explore the limits of Einstein's theory of General Relativity. It includes two space observatories, and several observational cosmology probes. The program culminates in the Einstein Vision probes, which will likely be considered as Great Observatories.

- HTXS — Constellation-X (2016) – the next generation X-ray space observatory (Great Observatory)
- LISA — Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (2013) – the first gravitational wave space observatory (Great Observatory)
- Inflation Probe – a probe to examine the CMB polarization (this would be a follow-up to COBE and WMAP)
- Black-Hole Finder – complements HTXS
- Dark Energy Probe - This is also known as JDEM, the Joint Dark Energy Mission. There are three JDEM concepts: SNAP (the Supernova / Acceleration Probe), Destiny (the Dark Energy Space Telescope), and ADEPT
- Big Bang Observer – a follow-up mission to LISA and Inflation Probe, also a gravity-wave observatory (Einstein Vision mission)
- Black-Hole Imager – an X-Ray telescope for observing infalling gas at a black hole's event horizon, a follow-up to HTXS and Black-Hole Finder (Einstein Vision mission)
