Then perhapse you need to go over to the Sarmite Bulte page and remove all of the references to people criticising her stance on copyright laws as well. I feel that this can be portrayed in an NPOV light in the same way.

I also feel that removing my comments in the discussion area is not in the spirit of the nature of the discussion area for I believ that the discussion area was meant to discuss and/or propose additions to the article.

Thanks.

  • I don't have any involvement with the Bulte page. In her case, however, there were national press reports about the fundraising dinner -- you haven't shown evidence of the same here.
  • This isn't the place for negative campaigning, regardless of the parties involved (I mean that literally and figuratively). CJCurrie 21:20, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

Fair enough. when I do get stronger bits of evidence (minus the occasional and casual post by Michael Geist) I'll be sure to post the suggestion here for review.

That would be acceptable. Sorry if we started out on the wrong foot. CJCurrie 01:38, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

Good to see we are no longer at odds with each other. I recently came accross a transcript of Bev Oda. Though it might not be a perfect example on where she stands on issues like this, it does highlight her activity in this field at the very least. transcript. There is also commentary (though I get the feeling you might think of it as biased) by Russel McOrmond here. I'll leave it up to you to decide how to interpret the transcript. :)

It's not biased so much as speculative. Anyway, I'm not sure this is Oda's personal view so much as Conservative policy. CJCurrie 21:21, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

Agreed. I was hoping the CIPPIC questions would clear things up in terms of party policy on the Conservatives side on issues like this as it has definitively been shrouded in mystery. In terms of some policies from their end, it has been oddly hard to come by for answers. I think that more answers can be obtained after the election, if the rumours remain true that she could be the next minister of heritage and how she plans to deal with the copyright debate if she does become the next minister of heritage. I'll put my efforts to work with a Conservative candidate who seems destined to have his seat in office anyway to try to gain some more clarity on the issues so it can be possible to figure out what the parties policy is and what her personal stance is. Truly looks like a 'wait-and-see' situation.

"recently argued in favour of allowing more Canadian and foreign programming options in the country." What does this even mean? Everything in the world is either Canadian or foreign. As opposed to what?Thes entinel 15:47, 4 April 2006 (UTC)
