Between The Lines is the name of a 1987 Top 10 hit pop album by British pop group Five Star. It became the follow up album to the hugely successful Silk And Steel album, although it only sold 350,000+ peakling at UK #7, it could not match up to the 1.2 million plus sales of the previous album. The album itself was of good quality, but it didn't have the same magic that Silk And Steel had.

The album was recorded in early 1987, pairing them with producers like Dennis Lambert, and songwriters including Diane Warren who penned their UK #16 hit "Strong As Steel" that was released in October 1987. The album spawned three hit singles, "Whenever You're Ready" UK #11, in August 1987, "Strong As Steel" UK #16 in October 1987, and "Somewhere Somebody" UK #23, December 1987.

This album was released at a bad time, co-inciding with the release of Michael Jackson's Bad LP, that was released the same month.

Many pop fans bought Michael Jackson's album, and probably damaged the sales of Between The Lines.
