Bethany is a borough in Wayne County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 292 at the 2000 census. nifty

In the borough the population was spread out with 20.5% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 26.4% from 45 to 64, and 23.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 45 years. For every 100 females there were 105.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.0 males.

The median income for a household in the borough was $39,167, and the median income for a family was $41,161. Males had a median income of $29,167 versus $26,042 for females. The per capita income for the borough was $21,683. About 3.2% of families and 6.8% of the population were below the poverty line, including 4.3% of those under the age of eighteen and 3.6% of those sixty five or over.
