Beth Troutman

Beth Troutman (born January 9, 1977) is an American politician and television personality.

Troutman is a native of Concord, North Carolina. After graduating from Concord High School she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at UNC, Beth was a member of the Tar Heel Voices. She graduated in 1999 with a double degree in Political Science and Women's Studies. After graduation she moved to California where she became a crew member on the NBC television program The West Wing. In 2004 she returned to North Carolina and filed to run as the Democratic candidate for the House of Representatives in the 8th Congressional District against three-term incumbent Robin Hayes. Troutman notably received contributions from her West Wing colleague Martin Sheen, although her campaign funding was a small fraction of Hayes's. Hayes defeated Troutman in the 2004 election 56% to 44%.

In 2005 Troutman was hired by WCCB-TV in Charlotte, North Carolina to host their morning show, "Fox News Rising."
