Bert van Marwijk

Bert (Lambertus) van Marwijk (19 May 1952, Deventer, Netherlands) is a Dutch former football (soccer) player, and nowadays a coach. He is the father-in-law of Bayern Munich midfielder Mark van Bommel.
As a forward and a midfielder he player 390 matches in the Dutch highest division (Eredivisie). He has one cap.
As a coach he managed to get the small-sized team of Fortuna Sittard into the Dutch Cup final in 1998. In 2002 he coached Feyenoord to win the UEFA Cup. In July 2004 he became manager of Borussia Dortmund. In December 2006 after 2 1/2 seasons of stagnation in the middle of the Bundesliga table, the club and van Marwijk announced they would part ways at the end of the 2006-07 season.[1]
