Berserker (character class)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Berserker is a character class in a number of role-playing games and computer role-playing games, including Final Fantasy. Also in Fantasy games such as Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, an axe-wielding Berserker accompanies L'Arachel, the princess of The Theocracy of Rausten.
[edit] Berserker (Final Fantasy)
In the Final Fantasy series the Berserker Class debuted in Final Fantasy V as a Job Class after acquiring the pieces of the Water Crystal. After achieveing LVL 1 in the job, characters are able to equip the tradtional Berserker ability Berserk, allowing increased physical attack, but denying the ability to use any other ability than Attack. At LVL 2 they gain the ability to allow other classes to equip axes.
The Berserker Class did not appear in the series again until Final Fantasy X-2, where the player could acquire the Berserker Dressphere after defending O'aka's shop from fiends in Chapter 3. The dressphere allowed the player to gain abilites such as Cripple and Mad Rush, taking full advantage of the Berserkers immense strength. As well as these, the berserk command was again available to allow more damage for less control.
[edit] Berserker (Fire Emblem)
In the Fire Emblem series, Berserkers are the heavy hitting units of the game. Wielding huge axes, and having the ability to cross water squares, Berserkers were essential for aquatic maps. Berserkers also have the ability to increase their critical chance by 15%. To obtain one, the player would either have to LVL up a Pirate to LVL 10 and promote them with an Ocean Seal, or obtain one of the already promoted characters such as Hawkeye from Fire Emblem The Blazing Sword or Dozla from The Sacred Stones.
