Bernhard Sekles

Bernhard Sekles (born June 20, 1872 in Frankfurt am Main; died December 15, 1934) was a German composer and music teacher.
From 1894 to 1895 he was the 3rd Kapellmeister at the Stadttheater in Mainz. In 1896 he became a teacher at the Hoch'sche Konservatorium in Frankfurt am Main; here he started the first European Jazz class in 1928. He was the director of the Hoch'sche Konservatorium from 1923 to 1933.
