Bernhard Neumann

Bernhard Neumann (15 Oct 190920 Oct 2002) was a German-born British mathematician who was one of the leading figures in group theory, greatly influencing the direction of the subject.

He earned a PhD at University of Cambridge 1935 and a DSc at University of Manchester 1954.
