Bernard Lechowick is an American TV writer. He grew up in Mentor, Ohio and an Irish Catholic father of two sons. Lechowick graduated from the University Of Notre Dame. For his graduate studies, he chose Texas to complete a master’s degree in Radio, Television and Film and it is there that he met his wife. Lechowick’s most notable turn on PBS was the Spanish and English series Que Pasa?.
He began his writing partnership with Lynn Marie Latham in 1979 and married her in 1981. In 1984, they landed jobs as story editors on the NBC nighttime soap, Berrenger’s. When the show was cancelled, he received job offers to write for Dallas, Knot's Landing and Falcon Crest. He and his wife studied the offers and decided to go with Knot's Landing. Neither he nor his wife were approached to work on the 1997 Knots Landing: Back To The Cul de Sac.
