The Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin, UdK) in Berlin, Germany, was founded in 1975 with the merger of the Berlin State School of Fine Arts and the Berlin State School of Music and the Performing Arts. The roots of the preceding institutions reach back to 1696. It has four colleges specializing in fine arts, architecture, media and design, music, and the performing arts. Its student body of 4,500 makes it one of the largest music and arts schools in Europe.

It was a Hochschule until November 2001, when it became a University.
