Berkeley Preparatory School, founded in 1960, is a PreK to Grade 12 private college preparatory school located in Tampa, Florida.

In terms of admissions standards, Berkeley is one of the most highly regarded preparatory schools in the country.

Berkeley Prep's total enrollment is 1200, with 515 students in grades 9-12. There were 137 seniors in the class of 2006.

Traditionally, 100% of Berkeley's graduates continue their education at four-year institutions. In 2005, 65% entered out-of-state colleges and universities.

Accreditation is through the Florida Council of Independent Schools. Memberships include the National Association of Independent Schools, Secondary School Admissions Test Board, National Association of College Admission Counseling, and the College Board. An Honor System is administered by the student government.

The 64-acre (22 ha) campus is located in the Town and Country suburb of Tampa. It consists of classrooms, a fine arts wing, two libraries, general convocation rooms, physical education fields, a pre-kindergarten and kindergarten wing, and administrative offices for Lower, Middle and Upper Divisions.

Berkeley also employs wireless technology and laptops carried by each student. These laptops are used to gain access to the internet. This concept makes Berkeley one of the few laptop schools in Florida. Each student receives his/her own email account providing that student with announcements, test dates, etc. Berkeley also uses Blackboard Learning System to upload powerpoints and documents for viewing on the students own personal computer. These methods are highly efficient and effective during the school year.

The school's athletic facilities consist of two gymnasiums, a wrestling/gymnastics room, a weight room, a rock-climbing wall, a stadium (for track meets, football and soccer games), baseball and softball diamonds, tennis courts, and a junior Olympic swimming pool.

Berkeley Prep's arts program was enhanced in 1997 with the addition of the 6,340 seat performing arts center which also includes a gallery for visual arts displays, a flex studio for both dance recitals and small drama productions, dressing rooms, and an orchestra pit.

The average SAT score for graduating seniors at Berkeley Prep in 2005 was 1289/1600. Despite its small class size, Berkeley Prep had 12 National Merit semi-finalists in the class of 2007.
