Berkeley Handicap

The Berkeley Handicap is a Grade III race for thoroughbred horses held on the dirt at Golden Gate Fields in Albany, California. Highlighting the Labor Day weekend, it's a race for three-year-olds and up of either gender and run at a distance of one and one sixteenth mile. The Berkeley is the richest race of the fall meeting, offering a purse of $150,000.
