Bergen is located in the Northern-Rhineland area of Hesse. It is the location of the Battle of Bergen (Seven Years' War). The town is named for the Bergen Family, which founded the area in 1873 in order to create a gun-manufacturing company due to the Turkish oppression in Europe at the time.
