Bentley (Spyro character)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bentley the Yeti is a character in the Spyro the Dragon series of video games.
[edit] Background
Bentley was first introduced in Spyro: Year of the Dragon, where he was captured by the the Sorceress and given to Moneybags' for safekeeping (who claimed that it took 24 Rhynocs to subdue him). After Spyro freed him, Bentley thanked Spyro "with the humility of a wounded sparrow." He has a younger brother named Bartholomew, and speaks with a wide vocabulary in a kind and scholarly manner. He describes Moneybags as a "duplicitous larceanous ursine"
[edit] Appearances
Bentley was a playable character in a few levels of Year of the Dragon, and his gameplay abilities related to his physical strength as a yeti: though slow-moving, he could smash through most obstacles (and enemies) using his large club, push blocks to solve puzzles, and could also deflect projectile attacks with his club as well.
One of Bentley's mini-games was a boxing match between him and another yeti, where Bartholomew demanded that he defeat the yeti to recover Bartholomew's missing beach ball, only to be enraged when the prize turned out to be a dragon egg instead. This mini-game can be played with two players if another controller is inserted.
Bentley's brother, Bartholomew, made another appearance in Enter the Dragonfly and Bentley himself also appeared in A Hero's Tail, where he asked Hunter to help rid his glacial home of invading yetis.
