Benjamin Boyer

Benjamin M. Boyer (January 22, 1823 – August 16, 1887) was a Pennsylvanian politician.

Born in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, he graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and became a lawyer. In 1848 Boyer was elected District Attorney for the county of Montgomery.

In 1864 he was elected a Representative from Pennsylvania to the Thirty-Ninth Congress as a Democrat, and was re-elected to the Fortieth Congress.

In 1866 he accepted stocks from Thomas Durant in the early stages of the Crédit Mobilier scandal. From 1882 until his death, he served as a Montgomery County judge.
