Benissa

Benissa is a small town in Spain in the province of Alicante, and one of the oldest towns on the Costa Blanca. Benissa old town is much the same as it has been for centuries with a town square (Plaza), narrow streets, churches, shops, and the town hall along with a vast array of typically Spanish restaurants and bars. The streets are narrow, and lined with typically Spanish village houses, with doorsteps directly onto the street, internal courtyards and deceptively spacious inside.
Benissa is an area of beautiful countryside, terraced vineyards, mountains and palm trees and heading away from town down beautiful winding roads through terraced countryside and towards Benissa’s 4km of coastline, old fincas sit on large plots amongst vineyards with panoramic views to the sea.
The municipality of Benissa has its own coast, and is not just ‘the coast road’ linking the towns of Moraira and Calpe Calpe. Visitors are often surprised to find a mix of cliff tops, rocky coves, sandy beaches and tiny bays along the Benissa Costa.
Leaving the town of Calpe is the sports harbour where you can find diving, windsurfing, kayaking and many other water sports being taught. There is a selection of cliffside first and second line luxury villas of along this stretch of Benissa known as ‘Les Bassetes’, giving the owner fanastic views across the harbour. Further along the coast road is La Fustera, Cala dels Pinets, Cala de La Llobella, Cala l'Advocat, Baladrar and Cap Blanc before coming into Moraira
Many visitors are attracted by the beautiful green countryside and coastline with its little coves and beach bars, picnic areas, pine forests, and mountains. The excellent climate and relatively cheap property prices for the north Costa Blanca is also an added bonus for the area.
