Benedykt Polak
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Benedykt Polak (Benedictus Polonus) (c. 1200 – c. 1280) was a Polish traveller and explorer.
Companion of Giovanni da Pian del Carpine, and author of the brief chronicle "De Itinere Fratrum Minorum ad Tartaros", concerning the first Franciscan missions to the Tatars (Mongolia) in 1245-1247.
The report of Benedykt is important for the curious letter of the Great Khan to Innocent IV.
