Image talk:Bell.jpg

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The caption on this image is incorrect. It obviously isn't a small hand-held bell... From the history it possibly appears to be Miami University (Ohio).
However, when looking back at the earlier versions, I see that it once was a picture of a hand-bell...
Among the linked pages, Wikipedia:List_of_images/Music/Musical_instruments/Percussion_instruments still thinks it's a Hand Bell, whereas Bell (instrument) describes it as a Church with Belltower (which to be honest, it's not a very good representation of anyway).
And whatever's gone on with it, the new photo is being resized (eg. to make a thumbnail) using the proportions of the old photo! --David Edgar 11:38, 2 September 2005 (UTC)

What cleanup is required for this image? It looks like a hand bell to me, but is clearly not a Church with Belltower !! Wouldn't an edit of the relevant articles sort the problem instead? -- Cactus.man > Reply  10:20, 7 September 2005 (UTC)
Ah, strange - I don't understand what happened there. If you look at the revision history, you'll see the differently-sized file (50099 bytes) for some of the edits.
I reverted to the original image.
But does this image (the tower): [1] no longer have its own image page? --David Edgar 09:39, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
Not sure what has happened here, or what status the belltower image has. Sorry about the 2 image changes, I clicked the 'revert' link by mistake. Hopefully it is back to normal now. I see that you tweaked the Bell (instrument) article which should deal with any problems. -- Cactus.man > Reply  15:27, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
OK, I've found the other image (Miami University) also placed here: Image:Betabell.jpg, so I'll now remove the clean-up notices from this image. --David Edgar 11:09, 12 September 2005 (UTC)
