Belpre-Parkersburg Bridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Belpre-Parkersburg Bridge is a four lane cantilever bridge that connects Belpre, Ohio to Parkersburg, West Virginia, across the Ohio River. The bridge was completed in 1980, replacing a 1916 suspension bridge (demolished March 16, 1980)[1] located just downstream of the present site. As of 2006 U.S. 50 occupies the bridge. U.S. 50 will be re-routed to the Blennerhassett Island Bridge west of here in 2007 as part of the completion of the Corridor D project around Parkersburg.
