Béla Szanto was an Hungarian Communist politician, active in the Hungarian Revolution of 1919. After the revolution failed, he fled to Soviet Russia like many other Hungarian Communists.
Béla Szanto wrote a book in the 1930s about the history of the Hungarian revolution, in which he criticized the actions of Béla Kun, the central leader of the Hungarian Communist. This developed hostile relations between Szanto and Kun.
