Beijing Forestry University

Beijing Forestry University (Simplified Chinese: 北京林业大学) is one of the key national forestry institutes in China. It is directly administered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. For decades’development and contributions made by generations of people, BFU has grown from a forestry faculty into a multi-disciplinary university with the orientation in forestry, biology and forestry engineering, together with a wide range of courses in sciences, engineering, management, economics, liberal arts, law, and philosophy fields. Besides undergraduate, graduate and doctoral education, her personnel training system also develops the continuing programs and international programs. Up till now there are 50 undergraduate subjects offered by 12 schools, 73 graduate disciplines and 35 doctoral disciplines.
It has 495 full and associate professors, of whom 127 are supervisors of Ph.D. programs and five, are academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering. It plays a leading role in the specialties such as landscape architecture, biological science, forestry silviculture, and soil and water conservation in China. Besides, It admits international enrollments including the Chinese as a Second Language student and the post-doctoral programs covering all of its subjects. By 2005 there have been about 1,200 international students studying in this university from such countries as Korea, Japan, the United States, Britain, Thailand, Indonesia, Austria, France, Italy, Finland, Turkey, Mongolia, etc.
