Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail

Beijing-Tianjin high-speed rail (京津城际轨道交通) will be a high-speed rail system between Beijing and Tianjin.
Construction began on July 4, 2005, and is scheduled to be completed in 2007. Opening is scheduled for July 2008.
The system will be 116.907 kilometers long, and cost about 14.3 billion RMB (~1.73 billion US dollars).

On 11 November 2005, Siemens AG announced that it has received an order of 60 Siemens Velaro trains for this line. The CRH 3 trains will have a maximum speed of 300 km/h and seat over 600 people each.
