Bedford Midi
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Bedford Midi was a medium sized panel van produced between 1986 and 1994 by the General Motors-owned Vauxhall motor company. designed very much in the mould of contemporary Japanese vehicle of the time, it featured an underfloor engine of Isuzu origin, in either petrol (1.8 litre and 2.0 litre)or diesel (2.0, 2.2 or 2.4 turbo)versions. The Midi could be ordered with either an old fashioned column mounted gear change allowing a third central passenger seat in the front, or with a conventional floor shift and was available in short or long wheelbases.
It was re-badged as a Vauxhall following the sale of the Bedford company to AWD and was replaced in 1994 by a range of Vauxhall badged Renault designed vans.
