Beckenried is a municipality in the canton of Nidwalden in Switzerland. It has a population of 2900 of which 6% is of foreign nationality (2002). The area of Beckenried is 32.95 km².
There are 180 local businesses which employ 900 people. 19% of these are in the agricultural sector, 32% in trade and industry, 49% in services.
The main sights of Beckenried are: the church St. Heinrich and its cemetery chapel, the Ridli chapel, the chapel St. Anna, the Klewen chapel, fun fair (Älplerkilbi), and the St. Nikolas market.
Starting from Beckenried a cable car brings tourists up to Klewenalp, a major holiday resort both in winter and in summer.
