Beaver Township, Mahoning County, Ohio

Beaver Township is located in southeastern Mahoning County, Ohio. It was organized in 1811, before which time it was known as township 13, range 2. The current population is just over 6,000. The Youngstown-Elser Metropolitan Airfield is located within Beaver Township.

Beaver Township is governed by a non-partisan board of three trustees elected by the people for three year terms. The trustees are Ron Kappler, Larry Wehr, and Ted Lyda. Richard Lotze serves as the township clerk and Michelle Swope is in charge of the Zoning Department.

The safety services include the Beaver Township Police Department and the Beaver Township Fire Department.

Most school age children residing in Beaver Township attend South Range Local School District. The South Range High School and Elementary School are located within Beaver Township, however, the Middle School resides in the neighboring Green Township
