Beaver Creek is located immediately south of the Town of Avon and encompasses the Beaver Creek Resort and adjacent business, lodging, and residential areas. The Beaver Creek area was settled about 1881. The Beaver Creek Resort opened in 1980. Beaver Creek was the retirement home of U.S. President Gerald Ford and Betty Ford.
