Beauharnois scandal

The Beauharnois scandal was a Canadian political scandal that was discovered between June 1931 and April 1932 by the Canadian House of Commons and Senate of Canada inquiry committees. A Canadian company, Beauharnois Power, had given $700,000 to the Liberal Party of Canada in exchange for the right to dam the Beauharnois River for electricity.
