Beast of Bataan was a film that Paul Verhoeven was speculated to direct in 2005, when the production of Black Book was temporarily stopped. The story would be based on the book A Trial of Generals by Lawrence Taylor, which is set in World War II in Bataan, Philippines.[1] In fall 2005 the production of Black Book was resumed and Beast of Bataan, was shelved until recently Fred Schepisi took over as director and filming is now slated to begin January 2007 in Queensland, Australia.
