Beagle conflict

The Beagle conflict was a political dispute over the Picton, Lennox and Nueva Islands at the Beagle Channel between Argentina and Chile in 1978.
The highest point of the conflict was reach on December 20, 1978 but was stopped by the mediation of Pope John Paul II and finally settled with the 1984 Argentina and Chile Peace and Friendship Treaty.
