BBC Sports Personality of the Year Young Personality

The BBC Sports Personality of the Year Young Personality award is given annually to the British sportsperson below 17 years of age who has made the most substantative contribution to sport in that year. First given as the Newcomer Award, in which the age limit was 25, in 1999 to Dean Macey, it was renamed in 2001 as the award for the Young Sports Personality of the Year.
