Battlefield Middle School

Battlefield Middle School is a middle school located in Spotsylvania County, Virginia near Fredericksburg.

As of 2006, the school principal is Sheila Smith and the vice-principal is Mr. Leonard C. Carlson. The physical education teachers are Mr. Pence, Mr. Acors, Mrs. Weeler, and Mrs. Pickering. Their sports team is called the Battlefield Warriors. As of 2005-2006, Ann Shaffer was named teacher of the year in Battlefield Middle School. The 2006-2007 season starts on August 23rd.

Eighteen percent of the students qualify for the free or reduced lunch program, versus the state average of thirty percent. Approximately 680 students enroll annually, 70% of which are Caucasian, 22% African American, 5% Hispanic, and 3% Asian. The student teacher ratio is 12:1. The school gets students from Battlefield Elementary, Courthouse Road Elementary, Parkside Elementary, Spotswood Elementary and Lee Hill Elementary.
