The Battle of the Nile (47 BC) was fought between Roman general Julius Caesar, Cleopatra VII of Egypt and between rival Queen Arsinoe IV and King Ptolemy XIII of Alexandria and Egypt during the Alexandrine civil war.

After pursuing his rival Pompey to Egypt, Caesar became intertwined in the Alexandrine civil war after his rival was killed in an attempt to please the arriving victor of Caesar's civil war. In February, Caesar engaged and defeated Ptolemy's forces near the Nile marking the end of this civil war.
