The Battle of Lier was fought on August 2, 1814 between Sweden and the newly independent Norway as part of the Norwegian-Swedish War of 1814. It was the first major action of the war. The battle resulted in a Norwegian victory, and forced Colonel Gahn to retreat. The battle was followed by the Battle of Midtskog.
