The naval Battle of Busan took place on 1 November 1592 during the first phase of the Seven-Year War between Korea and Japan.
By now, the Korean navy was well-trained. To win this battle, they secured it with longer cannon range.
The Joseon navy annihilated the enemy ships, despite the heavy gun fire from the Japanese defenders who were on higher ground. Without ships, the Japanese forces were forced to become ground troops.
The casualties for Korean were six dead and 25 injured. Captain Chung, Captain of Nokto, died from the Japanese cannon fire. When the Japanese shot a grenade at Chung's ship, he laid on it in order to prevent more soldiers from getting killed.
