Battle for Nevada

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Battle for Nevada is the annual college football game between the University of Nevada, Reno (referred to simply as "Nevada" by the NCAA) and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). The Fremont Cannon is awarded to the winner. Nevada leads the series 17-15 as of 2006. There have been six seasons during which the teams did not play.[1]

[edit] Traditions

The team with possession of the Fremont Cannon paints the cart (not the cannon itself) with the school colors: scarlet red for UNLV and navy blue for Nevada.
