[edit] History

[edit] Rival Schools

In Rival Schools, Batsu is introduced as a hot-headed new transfer student to Taiyo. One day, he finds that his mother, an employee at Taiyo, has been kidnapped. Despite his insistence that he can take care of it himself, he is joined by his classmates Hinata Wakaba and Kyosuke in his investigation. At one point, Batsu is confronted by Justice High School's Raizo Imawano, who reveals himself as Batsu's estranged father. This, along with the revelation that Kyosuke is working with Raizo and Justice High, pushes Batsu to confront his father and defeat him, as well as rescue his mother. After he and his classmates also defeat the mastermind of the kidnappings, Hyo Imawano, Batsu makes amends with Raizo and reunites his family.

[edit] Project Justice

In the year that has passed, Batsu has become used to life at Taiyo High, and a noted person for his efforts to help Raizo's efforts to reform society. However, when his father is attacked and violence breaks out between the schools - some of which orchestrated by a person that appears to be Batsu - he, Hinata and Kyosuke set out to find out who is smearing his good name. At one point, he is challenged by an angry Akira Kazama (who believes that he attacked her and her friends), and is defeated easily. Humiliated by the loss, Batsu runs off to train himself harder, leaving Hinata and Kyosuke to work with Taiyo's Student Chairperson in their investigation.

Later on, Batsu returns from his training and saves Hinata from the Batsu impostor. Batsu's training made him much stronger, as well as a fire-like aura (a version of Batsu with these changes is playable in Project Justice, as Burning Batsu). He chases down the impostor, who reveals himself to be Kurow Kirishima, the attacker of Raizo and mastermind of the current school violence. After defeating Kurow, he and his friend confront the now-possessed Hyo, who is easily defeated by Batsu and his friends. In the Taiyo High ending in Project Justice, Batsu is left wondering about the fate of his friend Kyosuke, who had disappeared after the death of Hyo.

An alternative storyline in Project Justice suggests that Batsu did defeat Akira, and thus did not leave to train and become Burning Batsu. This storyline is not considered canon, as it has Roy Bromwell and Tiffany Lords join the Taiyo students in their investigation, at a time they are doing their own investigation.

[edit] Cameos

Batsu makes an appearance in Capcom vs. SNK 2, along with Hinata in Kyosuke's Final Grade Remix super move.

Additionally, Batsu was one of two Rival Schools characters slated to appear in the ill-fated Capcom Fighting All-Stars (the other being Akira).
