The Batin are an Malay people in Jambi province on interior of the island of Sumatra, Indonesia.[1]

There are approximately 72,000 Batin living in the interior of south-central Sumatra. They speak a language sometimes called "Batin", but more often "Suka Batin".[2]

The Batin are predominately Muslim, but have a matrilineal kinship system.[1]
