[edit] History and format
Student Impact was created form the merger of two former papers at the University of Bath, Spike and Sponge, which had been running for the previous 30 years. Currently, the paper runs on a fortnightly basis, with a readership of 10,000 and a print run of 5,000.
The newspaper is split up into five sections, News, Comment, Features, Entertainment and Sport. It is produced on a voluntary basis by the 10 editors and over 100 contributors.
The newspaper works closely with the University of Bath Radio Station 1449AM URB and Television Station CTV, under a joint media group.
[edit] Student Media Awards
Student Impact was nominated in 2004 for the Student Website of the year award at the Guardian Student Media Awards, in which it came runner up.
