The Pioneers are the mascot for Batesville High School.

Batesville High School is the only public secondary school that is located in the city of Batesville, Arkansas, in Independence County. Their mascot for the school (and more specifically, for the sports teams) are the Pioneers. The school colors are orange and black.

"Batesville High School provides public education to the secondary schools in this district. We are a vital part of a three-fold cooperation between faculty and staff, the student body, and the local community. Together we work to ensure that the curriculum will support students who will develop life skills and accept challenging situations, so that they might become responsible participants in the global community."

[edit] Athletics

Batesville High School has a long history of success in many different sports. [1] The combined teams for the Pioneers currently compete in football, basketball, baseball, golf, tennis, cheerleading, track, soccer, volleyball, and many others.

In most sports, the Pioneers compete in the newly established (2005) AAAAA-East division of Arkansas athletics.

In 2003, the baseball team won a state championship while competing in the AAAA division, their first ever baseball state title.
