Bashir al-Azma, also spelled "al-Azama" (1910-1992) (Arabic: بشير العظَمة), was a doctor and a Syrian politician and head of state (16 April - 14 September 1962). He was born in and raised in Damascus. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Medicine from Damascus University, his graduate from the Paris.
He became the Minister of Health under the United Arab Republic (UAR), then he resigned because of a conflict with Gamal Abdal Nasser.
