BLT (Baselland transport) is a public transport company in Basel Switzerland. They operate the more suburban routes and use stock with a yellow and red colour scheme. BLT operates four of the twelve tram lines in Basel the others being operated by BVB aka Basler Verkehrs-Betriebe). BLT also owns the 14 tram line however it is operated by BVB trams. BLT (along with BVB) has just announced an order of 40 'tango' trams from Swiss company Stadler. The company also operates many bus routes in and around Basel

BLT was formed in 1974, through the joining together of four tram and railway companies. These were: Birsigtalbahn (BTB) Birseckbahn (BEB) Trambahn Basel-Aesch (TBA) Basellandschaftliche Ueberlandbahn (BUeB)
