[edit] Importance tag?

While the barium oxide article may not have yet received an importance rating, does that mean it should have an {{importance}} tag on it? The article contains useful numerical data which is clearly encyclopedic, so it's certainly important enough to remain in Wikipedia, and I don't see why this importance needs to be stated explicitly. -- JimR 11:22, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

You could find data on a practically unlimited number of chemical compounds, but that doesn't mean they're all important enough to merit inclusion in an encyclopedia. See Wikipedia:Notability (numbers), which addresses a similar issue. In this case, however, I agree with you, and I'm going to look up some useful or interesting aspect of BaO and then remove the tag. —Keenan Pepper 15:39, 27 June 2006 (UTC)
