Barry Pashak
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Barry Pashak was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1986 to 1993.
He first ran for the Alberta New Democratic Party in 1971 in Calgary North Hill. In 1986 he won Calgary Forest Lawn with the help of heavy vote splitting. He was defeated in 1993 when, after his riding was abolished, he ran in Calgary East against Moe Amery, whom he had defeated twice previously.
Following his electoral defeat in 1993, Pashak left the Alberta NDP. In 2000, he became leader of the Equity Party. The party stagnated and failed to run any candidates in the 2001 General Election. Pashak stepped down as leader in 2001.
