Barry Hankerson

Barry Hankerson is an African-American record producer. He is the founder of Blackground Records, a label he created in the early 1990s and continues to run with his son, Jomo Hankerson.

Hankerson was once a television producer and a politician in Detroit, Michigan.

He managed and produced The Winans and produced Ron Milner's play "Don't Get God Started" in 1988.
