Barreiro (pron. IPA: [bɐ'ʁɐiɾu]) is a municipality and city in Portugal with a total area of 32.0 km² and a total population of 79,047 inhabitants.
The municipality is composed of 8 parishes (freguesias), and is located in the district of Setúbal.
The present Mayor is Carlos Humberto Carvalho, elected by the Unitarian Democratic Coalition.
The municipal holiday is June 28.
